We are proud to announce we have been awarded a support contract by University of York, worth £2m+ per year. The three-year agreement includes the option of a further three-year extension.
The contract will see the Pelican procurement team manage the University’s procurement and supply chain needs associated with the purchase of food, beverages, and related consumables. Furthermore, Pelican will also be providing advanced technology tools to help the University efficiently manage their internal processes associated with their catering operation, across the whole campus.

The University of York has 15 catering outlets offering a diverse range of dining areas and retail shops both on and off campus to cater for the needs of staff, students and visitors. Unlike high street branded concepts where each outlet provides a prescribed set menu offer, the University provides a diverse range of menu concepts. The University’s hospitality operation is managed centrally by its Commercial Services with current annual spend of around £2m+.

We awarded the contract to Pelican as they demonstrated that their advanced technology, Pi, and their procurement expertise and supply chain management will help us achieve cost savings as well as improve our hospitality operation and support us in expanding and improving our offering.”
Pelican will be supporting the University’s procurement and catering teams in achieving their goals by delivering better prices, quality, and developing supplier and customer relationships. Pelican delivers compliance and process efficiencies through the provision of bespoke procurement together with supply chain management and cloud-based back office systems.
