Macmillan help people and their families affected by cancer to live their life to the full. Pelican’s Macmillan Day (as we call it) was held at our head office on the 10th October 2018, where Pelican staff took part in the bake-off challenge and brought a wide range of home-baked creations that were judged by our own “Mary Berry” and “Paul Hollywood”.
The event was organised by Harriet Spaven, Procurement Co-ordinator at Pelican. Harriet said:
“Macmillan is a charity that is close to so many people’s hearts here at Pelican. I have spoken to many people who support Macmillan and similar charities due to them having lost their loved ones or supporting those fighting the battle with cancer.
“By hosting our Coffee Morning in support of the charity, it enabled us to get together to talk, socialise as a team but more importantly it provided a great opportunity to work together to raise as much money as we can for Macmillan Cancer Support – helping those in real need.
“I would encourage anybody to host an event like this as it is a simple way of helping to improve people’s lives with the money you can raise, but also the event helps the team to make memories and achieve great things!”
