What area of Pelican do you work in?
I am the Tender Team Manager, leading a team of six.
What were your first impressions of the team and company culture?
There were 18 people when I started 19 years ago, we were a family in a small office. Today we’re a team of 70. The growth and evolution of the company has been impressive.
Being at Pelican now for over nineteen years, what is your favourite part about working here?
I like the fact that the company endorses and supports the health and wellbeing of employees.
What does a typical day working here look like for you?
A typical day will start with me checking all my latest emails – mainly replies from suppliers with regards to current Tender Bids we manage on behalf of our clients. Then I make a list of all the tasks my team and I need to accomplish that day.
What do you like most about your job?
It’s a challenge, but I love my job inside out as I liaise with suppliers, clients and other Pelican team members.
What have you been most impressed with so far?
I love the people and the workplace. There’s always someone there looking out for you. If I wanted to, I could work from home, but I choose to come in, as I like the office vibe.
What is your biggest achievement to date in your professional life?
My biggest achievement has been obtaining my CIPS qualification and progressing to my current role.
How would you sum-up Pelican?
Still a family – a slightly bigger one, yet a very supportive one.
What is your favourite meal?
My favourite meal is an Indian curry – I could eat it every day. I usually cook my own, and my absolute favourite is beef madras.
