We are proud to announce that Pelican Procurement Services has achieved the Workplace Wellbeing Charter Award.
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter is an opportunity for employers to demonstrate their commitment to the health and well-being of their workforce, whilst providing employers with clear guidance on how to make the working environment a supportive and productive one in which employees can flourish. These standards reflect best practice and are endorsed nationally by Public Health England.
The Charter takes a holistic approach that includes leadership, culture and communication, as well as health & wellbeing topics such as physical activity, alcohol and mental health. The framework promotes rounded discussions between employer and employees about health, safety and wellbeing.

As part of the assessment, including interviews with selected Pelican team members, it was recorded that:
“It was clear that the organisation is committed to the health and wellbeing of Pelican staff and this had been cascaded to all employees; indeed evidence shows that employees are engaged and aware of the support that is available. The assessor was particularly impressed with a number of initiatives such as the availability of fruit, the quarterly breakfast meetings which celebrate team successes and the Friday lunch time initiative.
All those interviewed spoke positively of the organisation and that they appreciated their job and role. They all spoke highly of their line management and how well supported they are; but more importantly, how appreciated they felt. It was apparent that the organisation does listen to staff, the introduction of the casual dress code was one example of this. It was also apparent that the organisation seeks to develop staff and there were examples of internal promotions. This indicates that Pelican Procurement Services values their employees and understands that the employees are the biggest asset of the organisation.”
