So what’s the job?

Internally our Account Managers are know as Client Procurement Managers. You role will be to managing a portfolio of clients and to ensure the delivery of their contracts in purchasing, supply chain and IT Solution (Pi). You will be accountable to deliver your clients objectives and business category growth within the accounts you manage. You will need to be great at managing multiple  internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve this.

Client Management

  • You will manage the relationship with all internal and external stakeholders at the clients you support, ensuring that regular client contact is achieved across all stakeholders
  • You will effectively manage the procurement, supply chain and Pi requirements
  • You are responsible for highlighting clients at risks, agree and implement a plan to retain the client. If this is not successful, then ensure a professional exit from the business. Ensure learnings are shared with key internal stakeholders
  • Identify additional Pi modules that could be used in order to improve client value
  • Managing the supply chain requirements of each client ensuring that suppliers are fulfilling client and Pelican’s KPI’s. Supplier Tender Delivery


  • Strive to achieve the company’s targets, and where necessary develop a robust commercial business case to justify any deviation
  • Identify and secure category purchasing opportunities by client and put in place to deliver this
  • Manage any supplier mobilisation and liaise with internal stakeholders including sales, tender team and PI to ensure a smooth contract mobilisation
  • Continually review the service that is delivered to the client to ensure best in class procurement is consistently delivered in line with our values; Professional, Transparent and Impartial

Skills required:

  • Account Management experience in a foodservice environment
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service experience
  • Understanding of supply chain

Other useful information:

We are looking for a candidate who is based in UK and is able to travel to client sites UK wide.
